INTRODUCTION

The Art of Teaching a Beginner Yoga: Teacher Training

​

My main objective is to help develop your teaching skills so you are able and confident to work with the most challenging situations with a beginner student. I know very well coming out my first training it was difficult to work with some students’ limitations. With close to 20 years of teaching, learn techniques and ways to help inform and elevate your students to new heights for years to come.

THIS COURSE INCLUDES

01/

ANATOMY

learning how the body functions is an incredible tool to help you understand what is or what is not possible for your students. We will study how the feet correlate with the knees. How the pelvis stabilizes and mobilizes the lower limbs. The function of each part of the spine. The role of hands and wrists and how they relate shoulders.  

02/

ALIGNMENT

what is alignment and why?  Understand how to align your students along with knowing why or possibly why not. Learn how to articulate alignment through sound verbal queuing. 

03/

ADAPTATIONS PROGRESSIONS

In most yoga settings if someone cannot do a particular pose you will see people either just watching or possibly practicing something they actually may not need. Learn to think outside the box to come up with creative ways to adapt and progress your student body.

04/

KEYS IN TEACHINGS

to stand out as teacher you first have real interest in helping others. You will learn many ways we can help build your classes and business. Learn to connect to your students, verbally, physically, spiritually.

05/

BASIC SEQUIENCING

Learn how to get your students started, layering the experience. Know how to not peak to early and start to slow. Your students want more in life, learn sound steps in layering the practice to progressively becoming a healthier skillful practitioner.

HOW TO READY A BODY FOR IMBALANCES

THERAPEUTICS

Yoga is exceptionally effective in healing the body. It can also can be harmful if used out context. Know how to deal with specific injuries will greatly improve how effective you can be as teacher.

CONSULTING

When I first started in yoga, some of the information I was looking for was not available for many reasons. Yoga, anatomy, what to teach what not to teach can be confusing. I am readily available in the training and beyond to answer your question. Having an open and welcoming communication will only make the experience better. I am here to answer your questions.

What Jon offers is personalized yoga. Specifically designed around your wants, needs, and goals. The quickest and healthiest way to meet and surpass your expectations.

Jon will create different programs for the individual depending on age and ability. He uses asana(physical postures)-pranayama(breathing exercises)-meditation props -internal cleansing techniques to help achieve optimal health and wellness. Jon uses both classical and contemporary techniques with great attention to detail, care, and joy he welcomes all.
